This research project, assessing the impact of Streetcars on Equity, Economics and Quality of Urban Life, aims to explore the benefits and costs that come with the "streetcar movement" which is currently taking across the nation using the lens of the development of economics, equity and quality of living. The question is: Can streetcars be utilized to boost economic development and urban quality of living that will benefit all residents equally? The Problem Statement Streetcars, influenced by the success of the Portland streetcar in revitalizing urban areas are a preferred choice for transit infrastructure investments across cities. Streetcars are renowned for encouraging economic growth along their routes, revitalizing inner-city neighborhoods and enhancing the urban quality of living.
